Bay Area Council Seeks Transportation Planning/Engineering Consultant

The Bay Area Council Economic Institute seeks to retain a transportation planning/engineering consultant to assist in the analysis of a suite of potential Bay Area transportation investments.

The Bay Area Council Economic Institute will identify a list of transformational infrastructure projects, and we will engage a consultant to model the traffic and throughput impacts of those investments. The chosen consultant must have experience in transportation demand modeling and access to California-specific models.

The projects to be analyzed are likely to include highway, transit, and rail projects that have been identified in the FASTER ballot initiative process, Link21, and/or Plan Bay Area. Some of the specific outcomes from these proposed investments that we would like analyzed, include:

  • Commute time reductions
  • Greenhouse gas emission reductions
  • Added jobs available within a 45-minute commute

We anticipate this project beginning in the 4th quarter of 2024 (consultant selected by October), with all deliverables completed by early 2025.
